Blockchain Game "Forgotten Runiverse" Halts Operations Due to Financial Troubles
BlockBeats News, January 28th, according to Decrypt's report, Ronin, the Ethereum-based Layer 2 solution, the free-to-play role-playing game Forgotten Runiverse announced that it will shut down its servers and suspend operations this Tuesday. The game development team stated on social media platform X that despite their efforts to overcome many obstacles, they have "reached a point where sustaining the game's operational environment in its current state is no longer financially viable".
Forgotten Runiverse originated from the Ethereum NFT collection 'Forgotten Runes Wizard's Cult' and was launched globally last year, but it announced its closure in less than a year. The team stated that all accounts and progress data will be securely preserved, but the game will be inaccessible during the team's evaluation of potential development paths.
