Butcher and Blacksmith Killed in Fight in Escobar

The owner of a butcher shop and a blacksmith died in Escobar following a confrontation that originated from a dispute related to a blacksmithing job. The incident occurred at a butcher shop on Urbino Street. After an alert call, police found two men on the ground. One of them, Martín García Mamani, 54, had multiple stab wounds. The other, a blacksmith in his 60s named Miguel, has not yet had his identity confirmed. According to investigators, the conflict began with a complaint from Mamani about a poorly done blacksmithing job. A witness, M.D.B., stated that the argument escalated into a knife fight. No money or belongings were reported missing at the scene, and the business's earnings remained at the location. Initial examinations confirmed that Mamani died from stab wounds, while the blacksmith had abrasions but no serious injuries. Investigators are looking into the possibility that the blacksmith suffered a medical episode during the fight. The case is being handled by UFI No. 5 of Escobar, led by prosecutor María Alejandra Amoretti.
