Coinbase Plans to Open Stock Trading to All Customers in Coming Weeks
BlockBeats News, January 16th, according to Fortune report, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said in an interview that Coinbase is committed to transitioning from a cryptocurrency exchange to an everything exchange, planning to open its stock trading service to all customers in the coming weeks. Currently, this service is only available to a small number of users.
Brian Armstrong pointed out that although stock trading is currently offered in a traditional manner, the ultimate goal is to achieve tokenized stock ownership, that is, to issue stocks natively on the blockchain. He predicted that this transformation will begin in the next two years, at which point all companies will recognize that blockchain is the superior technology for managing shares. Armstrong also stated that he hopes Coinbase will become the first company to pay dividends to shareholders in Bitcoin.
