Couple Missing in Dubai, Suspect Arrested
On October 2, 2025, Russian digital asset entrepreneur Roman Novak and his wife Anna went missing in Dubai. The couple informed those around them that they were going to meet an investor and headed towards Hatta, near the Oman border. A month later, three suspects were arrested in Russia, revealing the full extent of the case. They are accused of murdering the Novak couple, and accomplices who provided the necessary vehicle and location for the crime have also been apprehended. Investigations revealed that the crime was meticulously planned. The suspects visited the UAE three times to track Novak, and on the day of the incident, the couple was dropped off near a lake in Hatta by their personal driver. Afterward, the couple switched to a vehicle belonging to the perpetrators and moved to a pre-arranged villa. The assailants demanded access information for the couple's wallets, and after they refused, they were killed, and their bodies were disposed of in the desert. The mastermind behind the incident has not yet been identified, and authorities are considering various possibilities. Novak has a prior conviction, having been sentenced to six years in prison in Russia in 2020 for digital asset fraud.
