Divorce Can Be Processed Online in 'Diia'

In the 'Diia' app, a service for online divorce has been launched for spouses who have mutually decided to end their marital relationship. One spouse creates the application in 'Diia', and the other confirms it in their app. 'Diia' automatically verifies the information in the State Register of Civil Status Acts (GRACS). Without the consent of both parties, it is impossible to submit a divorce application. The marriage will be dissolved in a month if the application is not withdrawn during this time, which can be done no later than 4 hours before the video conference. Previously, at least two visits to the GRACS office and submission of paper documents were required for divorce. Now the entire process takes place online. If the spouses have common minor children, the divorce still occurs through the court. In June, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Digital Transformation began beta testing online divorce services through 'Diia'.
