MetaPlanet CEO Claims BTC Has Passed the Bottom
Simon Gerovich, CEO of MetaPlanet, stated that the price of Bitcoin (BTC) has passed its bottom. He mentioned the easing of selling pressure and the potential influx of Asian funds at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 event held in Hong Kong. Gerovich said, "The buyers coming in now will not go anywhere," and predicted a bright outlook for the remainder of the year. He explained that the market's sellers this year can be divided into two categories: those who sold because they wanted to and those who sold because they had to, claiming there was a downturn due to forced capital withdrawals. MetaPlanet continued to purchase BTC even during the downturn, and currently holds 43,000 BTC, the largest among publicly listed companies in Asia. He pointed out that Japanese household financial assets amount to about $14 trillion, with half of that remaining in bank deposits, highlighting the accessibility issues of Bitcoin for Asian capital. Gerovich emphasized that there are only 20 publicly listed companies in Asia holding BTC, which he believes will act as a factor of opportunity.
