This was driven mainly by a $5.9 billion unrealized loss tied to new fair value accounting rules for digital assets. Despite this, management emphasized that Bitcoin’s price has since recovered, with an estimated $8 billion gain already locked in for the second quarter as BTC trades near $97,300.CEO Phong Le highlighted that the company successfully executed its record $21 billion stock offering, using proceeds to acquire 301,335 additional bitcoins. This fueled a 50% surge in MSTR shares during the period. The firm also completed two sizable preferred stock IPOs, further strengthening its capital base.MicroStrategy’s ambitious Bitcoin goals for 2025 have now been raised. The company increased its BTC yield target from 15% to 25%, and its BTC dollar gain goal from $10 billion to $15 billion. Year-to-date, the firm has already achieved a 13.7% BTC yield and a $5.8 billion BTC gain.Beyond crypto, MicroStrategy’s software business saw mixed results.
