Polymarket Pays $20 to $100 for Promotional Posts by Brazilian Players
Polymarket has paid Brazilian Counter-Strike players and influencers between $20 and $100 for promotional posts. The eligible posts must mention Polymarket and include a screenshot of the betting interface, along with a paid partnership disclosure. The payments appear to be made in cryptocurrency. According to Dust2 Brasil, Polymarket is leveraging posts related to Counter-Strike betting and player/team news. Protos reported that there are 509 Counter-Strike-related bets listed on Polymarket, with some items reaching trading volumes of $1 million to $2 million. However, there is controversy surrounding the accuracy and presentation of the promotional messages. Professional Counter-Strike player Robin Cool has refuted the posts on the Polymarket account, describing AI-generated posts as 'digital cancer.' Polymarket's promotional activities are also linked to regulatory issues, as access is currently restricted in 39 countries. In Brazil, access to Polymarket has been banned due to the blocking of prediction market sites.
