Quantitative Trading Giants Bullish on Micron and SanDisk, Storage Chips Account for 50% to 55% of Semiconductor Revenue
Quantitative trading giant Susquehanna's analyst Mehdi Hosseini stated that storage has become the "king" of the semiconductor industry and believes its dominance will continue. In a report, he pointed out that investments in AI data centers will double the chip industry's revenue in 2023 to $1.5 trillion, with storage chips being the main driver. Hosseini mentioned that storage chips currently account for 50% to 55% of total semiconductor revenue, whereas historically, storage accounted for about 20% to 30%. He noted that Micron Technology has become one of the best-performing stocks in the S&P 500 due to rising demand and prices for storage chips, with its stock price increasing by 217% this year. SanDisk has also benefited from AI-driven storage demand, with its stock price rising by 531%. Hosseini has given both stocks a positive rating.
