Ricardo Salinas Advocates Bitcoin Over Fiat Currency

Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas urged his followers to escape fiat currency, labeling fiat inflation as a hidden tax. He emphasized that the way to hedge against this inflation is to buy bitcoin. Salinas, founder of Banco Azteca and former chairman of Grupo Elektra, stated that governments dilute the value of money, effectively stealing the time people sacrifice to earn it. He highlighted that unlike fiat, bitcoin cannot be printed at will, making it a safer store of value. Salinas has increased his bitcoin allocation from 10% to 70% of his portfolio, criticizing central banks for their monetary policies. He described traditional money as a 'fiat fraud' and has actively promoted bitcoin to his friends and family, even convincing his wife to mortgage their house to invest in bitcoin.
