BlockBeats News, January 9th, according to Cryptopolitan citing French media, a former French tax official may have abused her position to leak cryptocurrency holders' data, increasing the physical attack risk against this group. The former tax official, Ghalia C., has been sentenced for assisting organized crime and is currently appealing.

The investigation revealed that she had used her access to a confidential tax database to gather information on potential targets, including cryptocurrency investors, and may have disclosed their location and capital gains data.

Although there is no evidence yet that she plotted actual attacks against cryptocurrency holders, this case highlights the risk of the tax system being a source of data leaks. With European tax authorities increasingly tightening monitoring of cryptocurrency assets, such information leaks could expose holders to higher security threats.
