Frostsnap Releases Version 0.4.0, Fixes Two Security Issues
The Bitcoin multi-signature hardware wallet Frostsnap has released version 0.4.0, addressing two security issues without any reported loss of user funds. The issues include: FSA-2026-001, where a malicious signature request could mark an output as "belonging to the user's wallet" without the device verifying this claim and not displaying it on the confirmation screen, potentially leading to funds being transferred to an address the user has never seen; FSA-2026-002, where the change address may exceed the wallet's recovery scan range, causing funds to appear missing after a backup restore, although they remain within the wallet. After the update, the application will prompt users to upgrade the device firmware and introduce firmware downgrade protection. The team recommends updating the application and firmware as soon as possible.
