Zcash Gains 33.1%, Plans for Quantum Resistance

By: rootdata|2026/07/22 08:01:00

Zcash (ZEC) has recorded a value increase of 33.1% a week before the end of the month, which may break the unfavorable trend. Historical data indicates that July has not been a strong month for ZEC, with five losses since 2017, including the largest drop of 41.1% in 2017. The Zcash project has announced a three-phase plan aimed at making ZEC resistant to threats from quantum computers. The first phase, quantum recoverability (ZIP 2005), aims to provide protection in the event of elliptic curve breaks. The second phase integrates post-quantum key exchange standards, while the third aims to create a fully post-quantum pool. Increased interest in quantum threat resistance may positively impact ZEC's prices, similar to the Algorand token, which gained value after announcing plans for quantum resistance by 2027.
