ZKsync to Phase Out Old Execution Environment in the Next 6 Months
ZKsync has announced that within the next 6 months, all Boojum/EraVM chains will gradually phase out the old execution environment, with each chain setting and publishing its own specific timeline. This move aims to address the security risks posed by AI reducing the cost of vulnerability exploitation. The successor architecture to EraVM, ZKsync Atlas, has been designed from the outset to tackle this new situation and will not be affected by this upgrade. Currently, funds in EOA wallets require no action, but funds held through multi-signature, smart accounts, DEX, and other smart contracts will need to take action after migration plans are announced by each chain.
