HSBC: 45% of wealthy investors to increase crypto exposure in 12 months

Forty-five percent of wealthy investors globally plan to increase their cryptocurrency allocations over the next 12 months, according to an HSBC report. Currently, crypto accounts for an average of 6% of portfolio assets, down from 7% a year earlier. Additionally, 40% of investors intend to maintain their current exposure, while 12% plan to reduce it or are undecided. Younger investors show a stronger preference for crypto, with current allocations at 10% for Generation Z and 9% for millennials, compared to 4% for Generation X and 3% for baby boomers. Plans to increase crypto investment are highest among younger groups, with 48% of Generation Z, 47% of millennials, 40% of Generation X, and 35% of baby boomers indicating intentions to invest more. The survey was conducted from Jan. 6 to Feb. 6 this year among 9,993 investors in 10 markets, including mainland China, Hong Kong, India, the U.S., and the UK, each holding at least 100000 dollars in investable assets.
