Lumentum Stock Rises on Strong Guidance Ahead of CPI Data | WEEX TradFi Daily Brief

1 Stock Highlights

1)Lumentum (LITE) Raises Guidance on Strong AI Optical Demand

Lumentum (LITE) reported fiscal Q4 revenue of approximately $1.01 billion after the close on Aug. 11, marking substantial year-over-year growth, with non-GAAP gross margin and operating margin both rising significantly. The company issued robust next-quarter revenue guidance of $1.225–1.275 billion, driven primarily by AI data-center optical modules and CPO orders. Investors will focus on delivery execution and further margin expansion.

Futures: LITE

2)Why Is SK Hynix Stock Rising as Storage Stocks Rally?

Storage-related names advanced against the broader market, led by SK Hynix, with SanDisk and Seagate also rising in tandem. SK Hynix restarted construction of its NAND flash Phase II facility in Dalian, aiming to increase local capacity by roughly half. Rigid AI-server demand for high-bandwidth and high-capacity storage, combined with supply-side expansion signals, drove capital back into the storage chain.

3)SpaceX Shares Pull Back as Profit-Taking Emerges After Lock-Up

SpaceX (SPCX) closed lower. Following the earlier lock-up expiration, the stock had posted substantial consecutive gains, prompting investors to take profits. The long-term thesis around AI compute and Starlink remains intact, but near-term volatility has increased.

4)July CPI Preview: What It Could Mean for Stocks

The July CPI will be released at 20:30 (UTC+8). Market consensus points to core CPI rising about 0.2% month over month, with the year-over-year rate potentially easing toward 2.5%. A hotter-than-expected print could reinforce tightening concerns and pressure risk assets; an in-line or softer reading would help stabilize sentiment. Combined with ongoing Hormuz Strait negotiation uncertainty affecting oil prices, liquidity conditions and sector rotation are likely to be significantly influenced.
